We don't sell over discovery calls. We don't promise rankings. We don't give you a quote in the first conversation. Every engagement at Wave69 — SEO, web design, hosting, link building, branding, recovery — runs through the same five-step process. Audit-led, transparent, and explicitly built to weed out the wrong fits before either of us commits to work that won't pay off.
You tell us what you're trying to solve. We listen, ask follow-up questions, and decide together whether there's enough there for an audit. A meaningful share of our discovery calls end with "this isn't a fit" — we'll point you to a different agency or tell you a self-serve approach is better. There's no pitch, no slide deck, no pricing pressure. The discovery call is free.
This is where most agencies start selling. We start working. SEO audits cover technical state, on-page content, backlink profile, competitor positioning, ranking history. Web design audits cover mobile UX, conversion architecture, age-gate, hosting state. Recovery audits are the most rigorous — forensic dig into the cause of the decline. Audit is paid (£750 for full recovery audits, free on smaller projects). If you proceed, the audit fee is credited against month one.
Three sections — blockers (hurting now), remediation (need fixing but not urgent), growth (work that goes beyond fixing). Each with timelines, dependencies, and a budget line. You approve, push back, or walk away. About 15% of audit clients walk away with the audit alone — that's part of the deal.
We execute the plan in the agreed sequence. Build work runs through design rounds, build phases, QA, launch. Retainer work runs through monthly cycles with full reporting at the end of each one. You see what we're doing as we do it — no black-box agencies, no quarterly review surprises.
Monthly report you can read in five minutes. Real ranking movements, real traffic, real bookings tracked through call clicks, form submissions, payment events. No vanity metrics. If a month was soft, the report says so. Quarterly strategic review on every long-term engagement: are we still on the right plan?
Most operators we meet have been burned at least once — fake reports, ghost agencies, "guaranteed rankings", paid links that got the site penalised. Audit-first exists because you don't have to take our word for anything. You see the diagnosis before you commit. You see the plan before you spend.
We don't run "30-day blitz" packages because they don't work in this vertical. Most of our long-term clients are in years 4, 5, 7+ of working with us. That happens because we underpromise and overdeliver, not the other way around.
A client expecting top-3 in 30 days will be unhappy at month two regardless of how good the work is. A client whose business model isn't right for our retainer tiers will struggle to extract value. Better to figure that out in the discovery call than three months in.
First call is free, low-pressure, and short. Tell us what you're trying to solve and we'll tell you whether an audit makes sense.
